Croonin' for Crohn's Performers

The following performers are scheduled to appear at Croonin' for Crohn's.

Forever Gold

Forever Gold is an oldies band based in Bedford, Indiana. Known for their enthusiastic rock-and-roll, smooth harmonies, and energetic entertainment, Forever Gold became a local favorite after its members were part of the multiple sell-out performances of Good Vibrations in 2006. At Croonin' for Crohn's, Forever Gold will be performing some of the Good Vibrations favorites, as well as new, never before seen material.

Mr. Taggert

Mr. Taggert is comprised of local musicians with various musical backgrounds playing a wide range of styles with the simple goal of helping people have fun. You'll hear everything from Merle Haggard to Guns N Roses to Chicago style blues to some old Motown in any given set. Some of the artists the band covers are: Bad Company, CCR, Allman Brothers, The Eagles, Rolling Stones, Dwight Yoakom, Doobie Brothers, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, The Doors, Steve Earl, B.B. King, Hank Williams, and Johnny Cash. Members have played in several local venues; Bloomington; the French Lick Casino; Nashville, Tennessee; and some have toured the country with other bands. Mr. Taggert includes: Kent Todd on guitar, vocals, and fiddle; Jason Thompson on guitar and vocals; Bob Leahy on bass and vocals; Ben Armbrister on vocals and drums, and Daryl Robinson on vocals and guitar.

Dame's Rocket

Blend together a mixture of solid rock riffs, music that makes memories, a passion for performance, and a good old fashion rock and roll work ethic, and you come up with the band Dame's Rocket. Dame's Rocket is a band that appreciates the song and the relationship it shares with its audience. The band carefully selects the music it covers, choosing songs that create an indelible bond between band and fans. Dame's Rocket spans the generations bringing you classics from artists such as Janice Joplin, Heart, Led Zeppelin, Joan Jett, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pat Benatar, 38 Special, Fleetwood Mac, Sheryl Crow, The Eagles and more. And don't think you'll get some flimsy rendition of iconic hits. The members of Dame's Rocket pay special attention to the nuances of the song in instrument and vocals. You'll find yourself pumping your fists to the immortal rhythms and the persuasive melodies made famous by ageless artists.

JoAnna Kai Cobb

JoAnna Kai Cobb is a 6th Grade Math Teacher at Bedford Middle School in Bedford, Indiana; is the founder of JoKai CobbWebs; and annually organizes Croonin' for Crohn's with her husband, Ed. Musically, JoAnna entertains audiences across the Midwest, most regularly at the Little Nashville Opry, the Corydon Jamboree, and the Ross Country Jamboree. She also performs the National Anthem at several regional events, including Indianapolis Indians and Pacers games. JoAnna is a member of the band Forever Gold, whose members performed in the highly acclaimed Good Vibrations in 2006. A sufferer of Crohn's disease since April 2003, JoAnna ran her first half-marathon in 2007 and enjoys spending time with Ed and her stepsons, Sam and Mac, all of whom will join her for a song in the Croonin' for Crohn's show.

Lisa Higgins

Lisa Higgins has been in the entertainment field for 25 years! She attended Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan, where she earned a Music Education Degree with a minor in theatre and communications. She has been in various singing groups, bands, stage productions and theatre troupes in her journeys. Her endeavors also included a side career in radio, doing voice-overs and commercial jingles. Lisa eventually set out to realize her dreams when she made a big move to Nashville, Tennessee with intentions of pursuing a career in the music industry. The Nashville Palace, The Blubird Café, Opryland, The Opryland Hotel, and even The Grand Ole Opry are just a few of the places where she could be found singing. She also sang her share of demos and backups in an effort to be recognized. As with many Nashville singers/wait staff, recognition came slowly. Her career took a small detour when she married and had three amazing boys. This career change remains the best decision she has ever made. Currently, Lisa resides with her family in Bedford, Indiana, where she proudly works at Oolitic Middle School (Go Bearcats!), in the Resource Department. She is also a member of the bands Long Branch and Forever Gold. Recently, she has been seen in the productions of Good Vibrations and Patsy Cline and Friends, where she had the honor of portraying the amazing Brenda Lee.

Gordon Lowry

Gordon Lowry started the fiddle at the age of 12, after signing up to learn the instrument in grade school music class. He started playing with his father, performing on shaky knees with butterflies in his stomach. After gaining the confidence that comes with experience, he started playing wherever he could around his hometown of Columbus, Indiana, and nearby. A good fiddler can find work most anywhere, and he soon was busy playing wherever he could. Gordon went to Nashville, Tennessee—Music City USA—where he soon got a call from Ray Price. Within a few days Gordon was on the road as Price's fiddle player. He also found time to tape a segment of New Country with Bobby Helms, and work with Marty Robbins. Currently, he sings and plays fiddle on tour with The Lloyd Wood Show. He also finds time to be the regular fiddle player at the Corydon Jamboree and the Little Nashville Opry.

Brandon Pfeiffer

From his days leading the cello and acoustic guitar folk/rock duo, Certainly Rough, to his time spent singing cover tunes for the Petty Thieves, Brandon Pfeiffer has definitely had no trouble doing what he does best. He's spent countless hours playing pop, indie-rock, and alt. country tunes across the Midwestern United States, in addition to months spent in the studio writing, producing, recording, and remixing nearly any genre imaginable. He's been a songwriter for the last 15 years, a radio DJ for the last 12 years, and has run his own media production company for the last five years. After several short runs of acoustic and demo song collections, after producing and promoting records for several other artists, and after finally listening to the advice of friend (and drummer) Matt Jackson, Brandon Pfeiffer finally offers up his first full band solo studio album, Nothing Short of Now, produced by Don Chaffer (Waterdeep) and available now from Little America Records. Stephen Roberts

Stephen Roberts has been one kind of musician or another since the fifth grade, when he was told by someone much smarter than him that he should play the trumpet. "Well, why argue with experience?" he thought. So he played the trumpet pretty much non-stop until he graduated high school. Stephen started singing somewhere along the way, mainly in church. Since then, he has let his trumpet playing lapse into nonexistence. That was a big mistake because he really enjoyed playing. But Stephen's passion is singing. His favorite artists, this week anyway, are Josh Groban and Harry Connick Jr. He has been in a couple of stage productions including the Little Theatre's presentation of Jesus Christ Superstar, where he played Judas Iscariot. He is currently a member of Community Baptist Fellowship and is proud to be a vocalist in the greatest praise band of all time. Stephen is also involved with the technical side of music. He frequently works with Jay Black, Owner of Blacklight Entertainment, and Al Hamilton of Hamilton Systems. Stephen has recently acquired a small sound reinforcement rig of his own and is in the process of starting a pro-audio business (Insert commercial here). Some of his other interests are computer repair, movies, and he is completely and hopelessly addicted to radio controlled airplanes and helicopters (donations for addiction maintenance accepted).

Mike Pugh

Mike Pugh has been a professional touring musician since 1972, and has played piano and keyboards for some of the best. Over the years, Mike has racked up his share of professional credits, playing keyboards for such nationally known acts as Percy Sledge, The Coasters, The Shirrells, and The Drifters. Mike has been the accompanist for vocal performances by former Miss America, Heather French, as well as playing piano for Grand Ol’ Opry Superstars Helen Cornelius, Jan Howard, and Jeannie Seeley. He was the original staff pianist at the Ross Country Jamboree in Scottsburg, Indiana, and spent time working in the staff band for the world famous Renfro Valley Entertainment Complex in Renfro Valley, Kentucky. These days, Mike makes his home in Lexington, Kentucky, and divides his time between managing his delivery business, and playing piano as much as possible.

Teresa McCameron

Teresa McCameron is the mother of two beautiful boys, Cameron (9) and Gaje (16). She is employed as an Account Executive at WQRK, WBIW, and WPHZ. Teresa has been singing since an early age, performing anywhere anyone would listen. Teresa has performed in the Sound of Music and Carnival. While at Ball State University, Teresa trained vocally for two years and sang with the University Choir. She currently sings in the Praise Band at her church, Community Baptist Fellowship. She also sings with friends Stephen Roberts and Ron Rife at various locations. Teresa enjoys playing with her sons, spending time with family and friends, working in the yard (great time for meditation!), reading, watching football, and working out.
